Implementation of NFPA 1710

 Each site will need to address with their local Department of Energy representative how to document exceptions to the requirements of NFPA 1710.  Most sites may be able to write an Equivalency using their Baseline Needs Assessment (BNA) document as the basis for staffing and response requirements for their site.  Technical Position OTP 2002-2 is the basis for developing Equivalencies where compliance with NFPA 1710 cannot be achieved.

NFPA Committee Membership List

The purpose of developing a list of NFPA committee members is to assist DOE contractors by providing the names and contact information of committee members who work within the DOE complex. By doing so, it is hoped that contractors will use the committee members as a resource to present specific positions at committee meetings, to help resolve code questions and to help better understand the intent behind code requirements. The current list of NFPA committee members is available on the Fire Protection Subgroup web site.
