Analysis of EFCOG Electrical Safety Charts for May 2008

EM Program Office had a nearly significant increase in 08J Electrical Near Misses in May 2008, with three occurrence reports.  From May 2006 to November 2007 (19 months) EM had only 11 Near Misses.  Over the past six months, EM has had 10 Near Misses.

NA Program Office has had seven months below average for 08J Electrical Near Misses, a significant decreasing trend.  NA Program Office is one month away from an improving trend in 08A Electrical Shocks.

SC Program office is one month away from an improving trend on 08J Electrical Near Misses.

A new, reduced baseline average has been established for SC Program Office total Electrical Events, following the decreasing trend note last month.

“A4B1C01 - Management policy guidance / expectations not well-defined, understood or enforced” remains in first place as the leading cause of 08J electrical near misses over the past 12 months.
