Analysis of EFCOG Electrical Safety Charts
for December 2010.
Overall DOE charts are stable.
December was a relatively quiet month
compared to the past six months, so there does not appear to be an
increasing trend developing as stated last month.
SC total events chart was at zero for
December, which is two standard deviations below average.
If January or February 2011 also comes
in at zero, this will be a significant decreasing trend.
08J Electrical Near Miss is three of
four months one standard deviation below average, if January 2011
also comes in at zero it will be a significant decreasing trend.
08A Electrical shocks returned to zero
for December after being nearly significantly high in November.
EM charts remain stable on current
baselines.
NA charts remain
stable on current baselines.
Causes A3B1C03 – “Incorrect performance due
to mental lapse” remains the leading cause for more than 12
months.
Three causes, A3B1C01 - Check of work
was LTA, A3B3C01 – Attention was given to wrong issues, and
A3B3C05 - Incorrect assumption that a correlation existed between
two or more facts are tied in have been in the top three for a
long term.
A4B3C08 Job Scoping did move up in the
ranking this month.
Six of the top eight causes are A3
Human Performance series causes.
