Analysis of EFCOG Electrical Safety Charts
for January 2010
The overall number of Electrical Events
reports returned to below baseline in January 2010, with nine
reports.
Electrical Shocks (08A) for All DOE have
been above average for more than seven months in a row.
January 2010 did return to below
average.
The data will continue to be
evaluated to determine if the event rate has returned to the
previous baseline, or if a new higher baseline needs to be
calculated.
SC Program Office charts are stable.
Electrical Near Miss (08J) did come
in close to the UCL in November, and another month similar to
this in January will cause a trend to be declared.
NA Program Office charts returned to below
baseline for January.
Previously noted trends and
developing trends appear to have ended.
EM Program Office 08J Electrical Near Miss
Chart has an increasing trend, with four of five months have
been one standard deviation above average.
All other charts are stable on their current
baselines.
Check of Work was Less than Adequate
(A3B1C01) remains the leading cause of 08J Near Miss events.
A3B2C05 - Situation incorrectly
identified or represented resulting in wrong rule used remains
tied with A3B1C01 for the leading cause.
