Analysis of EFCOG Electrical Safety Charts
for June 2010.
New average and control limits have been
calculated for all charts which have had trends reported in
recent months.
The overall DOE chart
has been stable going back to October 2006.
Electrical Shocks and Electrical
Near Misses remain stable on elevated baselines (as compared to
2007 – 2008 performance)
All three EM Program
Office charts have had new, higher baselines established.
These baselines are not as high as
those that were in effect in 2005 and 2006 when the Electrical
Safety Challenge projects started, but are higher than the rates
achieved in 2007 and 2008.
The overall NA Program
Office chart remains stable going back to July 2007.
NA Electrical Shocks have received a
higher baseline of 1.4 per month, nearly three times as high as
the previous baseline of 0.5 per month, but is lower than the
2005 baseline of 1.6 per month.
SC Program Office remains stable for all
three of its charts.
Causes A3B1C03 –
“Incorrect performance due to mental lapse” remains the leading
cause over the past 12 months.
A3B2C02 – “Signs to stop were
ignored and step performed incorrectly” stays in second place.
Six causes remain tied for third
place.
