Chuck Mitchell 1.0 IH CM point In this course you will learn techniques for qualitatively identifying and assessing the hazards associated with facility and process operations. You will learn the important factors in selecting the most appropriate technique for a given problem. These techniques are used to identify hazards of processes in all industries and government agencies. Your organization can use these methods to help ensure compliance with the DOE regulations for hazard and safety analysis, the OSHA regulation for process safety management (PSM) of highly hazardous chemicals (29 CFR 1910.119), the EPA regulation on risk management programs (40 CFR 68), as well as similar industry initiatives. This course will present the essential elements of the following analysis tools: hazard and operability (HAZOP) analysis, checklist analysis, what-if analysis, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), event tree analysis, and fault tree analysis. |
